Title: Psychosocial Factors Influencing Young Women's Decisions for Elective Plastic Surgery

Purpose: To determine the forces that appear to lead young women to consider elective plastic surgery, particularly breast implants, even though there are negative medical sequelae associated with having implants.

Executed complete project; identification of factors for consideration vis-à-vis elective plastic surgery, design of the focus groups and study questionnaire, development of novel psychometric scale, participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and writing of the thesis.

Title: Role of Physician Characteristics in the Medical Care Informed Consent Doctrine

Purpose: To advise both the medical and legal communities as to the types of personal information patients deem essential to their decision to undergo treatment and thus conceivably should be disclosed to the patient by the physician in order for patients to give informed consent.

Involved in the development and administration of a survey instrument, responsible for monetary reimbursement of participants, and data entry.
