Workshop series:
The Nicholls Group presents workshop series on various topics, typically in a format of weekly meetings over a certain period of time. These workshops combine lecture/presentation, handouts and materials, active participation/homework exercises, and the support of others who are experiencing similar circumstances.

Upcoming Workshops:
We also see clients in group settings for educationally oriented groups and skills building groups. If you are interested in learning more about any of these groups, please call our office for more information and for dates and times. All of the information provided in group settings is also available individually, at your request. Our current groups are:

  • Chick Chat:
This is a peer support group for girls who have experienced bullying.  In addition to meeting other girls just like them, the group will also function as an educationally based group to teach the girls assertiveness skills, communication skills, and social skills.  Above all, the group will provide an accepting, non-judgmental environment for the girls to meet each other and experience a sense of belonging and acceptance by their peers.

  • Esteem Team:
This group is designed for girls who need a boost in their self-esteem. The group is a good fit for girls who tend to be quiet worriers as well as those who are very outgoing but who worry too much about what others think of her.  This group is also beneficial for girls who are not worriers, but who could benefit from learning how to appreciate and value herself just the way she is.

  • ADHD Management:
This is a skills training group for adults with ADHD. Learn how to better manage your time, stop procrastinating, meet your goals, and get organized.

  • TBI Group:
This group is for individuals 21 to 50 years old living with a traumatic brain injury. This group has an educational focus, as well as a support group focus. You will learn how to live optimally and improve your quality of life after a traumatic brain injury. You will also have the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences with other individuals who are living with a brain injury.

  • Caregivers Getting Their Own Support:
This group is for caregivers of their loved ones. This group has both an educational and support group focus. You will learn healthy coping skills to prevent burn out and decrease anxiety/depressive symptoms. This is a wonderful way to increase your current support network and build relationships with other individuals who are living in similar circumstances.
